Jam Information

"What If Ankara" has been developed during "DEVJAM Ankara" that has been organized by "GDSC METU". Jam ran from May 13 to May 15 with a period of 48 hours. Theme was "Ankara".

About

It's a top-down 2D shooter game where you take down your enemies with your gun(s). It has been desired to include bullet-hell mechanics aswell. Game contains several rooms and after clearing each room, next room becomes available. It was inspired from games like "Enter the Gungeon", "The Binding of Isaac" and "Asuras".

Story

A time traveler named "Enver" managed to break physics law (won Nobel and disappeared(it's another story)) and found a way to teleport between timelines. From "Ancient Greece" to "Marslandia"(AD 3169), he wandered all around. Until one day he decided to try "AD 1912", small town near Tunusia. Nevertheless he managed to escape but something changed. One of the changes was Ankara had been captured, opposite as history books. So "Enver" ordered his best man to take "Ankara" back and return it to "Caliphate of Hatay", whatever that means!

You need mouse and keyboard to play.

W | A | S | D - Moving the character

Left Mouse Click - Shooting

Right Mouse Click - Dash

R - Restoring health

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 - Switching guns

Guns

You can collect guns in rooms. There are 4 types of guns explained below.

    Pistol: Slow bullets and medium reload time

   Shotgun: Shoots five projectiles at once with slow reload time

   Rifle: Not balanced properly and has fast bullets

   MachineGun: Just OP otherwise "Boss" become a myth

Enemies

There are 4 types of enemies with 1 being a "Boss".  Excluding the boss, their health is ranged from 3 to 21 bullet hit. Also enemies can be static to single place and shoot player from there instead of moving & shooting. 

  Assailant: Common enemy that can carry different guns

  Enforcer: Usually carries rifle 

  Commander: Gives orders

  B0SS: Why does he look like the head of navy?

Boss has a 50 hit points, just in case.
